The casino-themed fundraising event featured a red carpet reception, casino tables, live entertainment from Grooveline Band, host Roman Harris and a live auction led by Thomas Forrester.

Impulse Decisions provided full event management, including venue coordination, event styling, entertainment, auction sourcing and management, and an online silent auction platform, helping deliver a memorable evening while maximising fundraising opportunities for African Revival.

An Unforgettable Evening of Fundraising and Entertainment

On Friday 2nd October 2026, the Impulse Decisions team had the pleasure of organising and delivering African Revival’s Charity Ball at the stunning Park Hyatt London, bringing together over 230 guests for an unforgettable evening of entertainment, fundraising and celebration.

With a glamorous casino theme, fantastic live entertainment and an exciting programme of fundraising activities, the evening was designed to create a memorable experience for guests while raising valuable funds for African Revival.

The event was a fantastic success, raising over £37,000 for the charity on the night, thanks to the generosity of guests and the fundraising activities throughout the evening.

From the initial planning meetings to the final moments on the night, our team worked closely with African Revival to bring every element of the event together.

From Planning to the Final Details

Organising an event of this scale involves months of preparation, and our team was involved from the very beginning to ensure everything was carefully planned and coordinated.

Our responsibilities included venue site visits, meetings with the hotel, supplier coordination, entertainment arrangements and overseeing the event schedule. We also managed the creative elements, including designing the event artwork and brochures to complement the evening’s casino theme.

Working closely with the team at Park Hyatt London, we planned the room layout, guest experience and fundraising activities to ensure the evening flowed seamlessly from the drinks reception through to the final entertainment.

Bringing the Casino Theme to Life

One of the highlights of the event was transforming the venue into a glamorous casino-inspired setting, with plenty of thoughtful details adding to the atmosphere.

Guests arrived via a red carpet entrance, before being welcomed by glamorous showgirls as they entered the drinks reception, creating a fantastic first impression and setting the tone for the evening ahead.

Inside the main event space, the casino theme continued with carefully selected table decorations. Chocolate casino chips, playing cards and dice were incorporated into the table displays, while oversized dice positioned on the stage created an eye-catching feature and brought the theme together.

A large display of silent auction lots and donated prizes was also positioned for guests to explore, showcasing some of the fantastic prizes and experiences available to bid on throughout the evening.

Every detail was designed to create an engaging environment while maintaining the elegance of the venue.

An Evening Full of Entertainment

With over 230 guests in attendance, creating an exciting atmosphere was an important part of the evening.

Our fantastic host, Roman Harris, guided guests through the event, keeping the evening flowing and bringing plenty of energy and personality to the room.

One of the interactive highlights was a game of Higher or Lower, with the showgirls joining Roman to help entertain guests and encourage participation. It was a brilliant way to get everyone involved while supporting the evening’s fundraising efforts.

Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy the casino tables, adding another element of entertainment and friendly competition to the night.

To finish the evening, Grooveline Band took to the stage, delivering fantastic live music and bringing guests together on the dance floor for a brilliant end to the celebrations.

Over £37,000 Raised Through Incredible Fundraising Opportunities

Fundraising was at the heart of the evening, with over £37,000 raised for African Revival through the generosity of guests and the fundraising activities taking place throughout the night.

Our team organised and managed both the silent auction and live auction, providing plenty of opportunities for guests to bid on some incredible prizes and experiences.

Our silent auction was delivered through the Impulse Decisions online bidding platform, allowing guests to browse lots and place bids directly from their phones. This meant bidding could continue throughout the evening without interrupting the entertainment or dining experience.

The live auction was led by Thomas Forrester, who brought enthusiasm, energy and excitement to the room, encouraging guests to get involved and bid generously.

The auction featured an impressive selection of lots, including tickets to the Royal Albert Hall, a hospitality box for a Jessie Ware concert, and stunning jewellery by renowned British jewellery designer Sophie Harley.

Sophie Harley is particularly well known for creating the iconic Algerian Loveknot necklace, famously featured in the James Bond films, making her jewellery a fantastic addition to the auction.

The combination of fantastic auction lots, interactive fundraising activities and enthusiastic guests helped make the evening a fundraising success, with the money raised supporting African Revival’s charitable work.

Bringing Everything Together on the Night

After months of planning, it was incredibly rewarding to see the event come to life.

Our team was on-site throughout the evening, managing the running order, coordinating with the venue and suppliers, overseeing the auctions and ensuring the entertainment and fundraising activities ran smoothly.

From the red carpet arrivals and casino-themed room to the excitement of the live auction and the final songs from Grooveline Band, the evening brought together all the elements of a memorable charity event.

Seeing over 230 guests enjoying themselves while helping raise more than £37,000 for African Revival made all the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile.
