Monaco Grand Prix 2024!

Over the weekend members of the Impulse Team hosted 80 clients in Cannes for the iconic Monaco Grand Prix. This included Ross Bousfield our new Head of Sport! Read on to find out more about his first Monaco Grand Prix experience……

The Grand Prix isn’t the only event that week with glitz and glamour alluring fans and celebrities from far and wide, as it coincides with the Cannes Film Festival.

Guests were treated to the full red carpet experience at the 5-star JW Marriott Cannes. Situated across the road from the actual red carpet and main screening house, the hotel was not just home to Impulse Guests but also several film stars, including Selena Gomez and Chris Hemsworth. Staying in Cannes with the film festival ongoing only adds to the buzz and electricity that comes with the Monaco GP.

On Saturday, we took our guests on a Champagne Boat Cruise along the stunning French Riviera. This, as always, was a real highlight of the trip. With champagne flowing from the minute guests boarded, we departed Cannes and sailed along the Riviera until we dropped anchor off the coast of Antibes. With blue skies and calm waters, guests took this opportunity to don their swimwear and take a dip, or hop on one of the many paddleboards available. As we pulled back into port and disembarked, we were able to take advantage of the plethora of bars and restaurants which adorn the marina to catch the second halves of the FA Cup, Scottish Cup, and Champions Cup Finals, depending on your allegiance.

Sunday was the main event. There is something special about race day in Monaco, an event that is hard to compare to any other, even within F1. We had guests experiencing the race from a number of vantage points. In the grandstands, guests either had a bird’s eye view of the pit lane—a hive of activity throughout the day, especially pre-race, where it’s a who’s who of the sports and entertainment industries. The alternate grandstand

location is no less spectacular, looking directly out to the marina with fantastic track views.

Those not in the grandstands had booked a number of different hospitality options, including the iconic Caffe Milano, Fairmont, La Rascasse, and the Albatros hospitality suites. We also had guests who chose to take to the water and view the race trackside from a yacht. Having had the chance to view each of the hospitality units earlier in the week, I truly believe there is no right or wrong way to view the GP, with each vantage point offering something unique. Given the choice, I’d like to try them all!

Following the chaotic first lap, which saw the race red-flagged and four drivers crash out, the resumption saw the Monegasque hero and local resident, Charles Leclerc, lead the pack to the chequered flag for his first home win, adding some intrigue to this year’s championship battle.

“Excellent experience overall, really couldn’t fault any aspect of the event. All the guys handling the logistics were superb and we met some very friendly people attending the event. Well done everyone and many thanks!!” Monaco Grand Prix Client, 2024

Reflecting on my first Monaco experience, I would encourage all sports enthusiasts to consider adding this to their list of must-see sporting occasions. There is so much more to the event than just the race; it’s an experience that truly comes into its own when experienced in person.
