Recently, Bogumila Glonekova, our Experiences and Bookings Assistant, had the incredible opportunity to visit Paris. During her trip, she attended the world-renowned Moulin Rouge, an experience that forms a highlight of our Luxury Paris trip.

Here, she shares her unforgettable experience:

 

First Impressions

Upon arriving at the Moulin Rouge, we were greeted by a warm, enchanting Parisian evening. Both my friend and I were filled with excitement and curiosity about the show that awaited us. This was my first visit to Paris, and the thrill of being at a place beloved by Toulouse Lautrec, one of the greatest artists, was palpable. We were eager to immerse ourselves in the Parisian bohemian lifestyle.

The Moulin Rouge hosts welcomed us warmly. After a brief 10-minute wait, we were led to our table. The dining room was nothing short of extravagant and chic, with red velvet curtains, crystal chandeliers, and small red lamps adorning the tables, instantly immersing us in the iconic atmosphere of the Moulin Rouge. Seated with champagne in hand, we began soaking in the ambiance of the world’s most famous cabaret.

 

A Culinary Delight

We were treated to the Menu Belle Époque, served during the Olympic period and our visit. Our meal included exquisite dishes like Lobster, Monkfish, and Pavlova, paired perfectly with champagne.

 

The Show

The audience was a diverse mix, predominantly couples, but there were also families with children, which added a wonderful energy to the evening.

The costumes and stage design was Breath taking! The show was a masterpiece featuring 1,000 costume designs with feathers, sequins, and rhinestones. From the first moment, we were captivated by the beauty of the costumes and the intricate stage design.

Several acts stood out, including the pirate scene and fish tank, the Moulin Rouge from 1900, and the acrobats whose physical feats and displays of strength were truly extraordinary.

This being said the French Cancan was a standout, a powerful dance symbolizing women’s liberty and emancipation. It was an unforgettable part of the performance.

The show was playing on all kinds of feelings, no performance triggers the same emotions, one minute we’re laughing, clapping, chair dancing and next we’re gasping in awe or holding our breath in collocative silence.

 

Atmosphere and Ambiance

The atmosphere was wild and energetic. Our table was perfectly situated in the middle of the dining room, providing us with an excellent view of the stage, making us feel fully immersed in the experience.

 

Personal reflections and Lasting Impressions:

The performance exceeded my expectations, with exceptional artistry from first-class performers from around the world. I am incredibly grateful for this experience—thank you, James and Impulse!

The show has inspired me to delve deeper into the history of the Moulin Rouge and the Bohemian revolution. I’ve recently purchased a book about Henri de Toulouse Lautrec to immerse myself once more in the Bohemian culture.

I wouldn’t highly recommend this show to others! This famous cabaret offers an unforgettable magical experience, captivating guests for over 130 years, and it truly does not disappoint. I plan to return and bring my husband so he can experience this electrifying atmosphere too!
