The Starting Point

The Client Brief

The client wanted a unique corporate experience for one location and its customers.

They were looking for something different from the norm and wanted to avoid repeating the same style of event they had hosted previously. As the group was not focused around golf, the client needed an alternative experience that still felt premium, social and suitable for relationship building.

The event needed to work for 20 guests, offer strong hospitality value and create a clear sense of occasion.

What We Delivered

The Corporate Experience We Created

Impulse Decisions arranged a private whisky tasting experience on the outskirts of Glasgow.

The event was built around private venue hire from 12:00 until 6:00pm, giving the group exclusive time together in a relaxed and atmospheric setting. Guests were welcomed with a RAER Moment cocktail and private chef catered canapés before an official welcome from the client.

The group then enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the maltings and distillery, including areas not usually open to the public. This included access to the mill room, lab and whisky bond, giving guests a deeper look into the whisky-making process.

The experience continued with a special RAER Single Malt Scotch Whisky tasting and appraisal, followed by a guided tasting of four spirit samples. Private chef catered bites were served later in the afternoon, with time for guests to relax, network and enjoy the setting before receiving a mystery RAER goody bag on departure.

The Difference

What Made This Experience Different

This whisky tasting experience worked because it felt more immersive than a standard drinks reception.

Rather than simply arranging a meal or bar booking, the event gave guests access to a private setting, behind-the-scenes distillery areas and a guided tasting format. The combination of storytelling, tasting, food and exclusive access created a stronger experience than a conventional hospitality event.

It also gave the client a natural environment for conversation and relationship building. Guests could learn, taste, compare, ask questions and enjoy time together in a way that felt relaxed but still premium.

For a group that wanted something different from golf or standard corporate entertainment, this whisky tasting provided a distinctive Scottish experience with a clear sense of place.
