“Giving Back: Impulse Decisions Joins Yorkshire Children’s Charity for a Day of Volunteering
Members of the Impulse Decisions team travelled to Wetherby for a day of volunteering for Yorkshire Children’s Charity (YCC) to support with their Winter Support Campaign.
Here’s Amy to tell us more about the day…..
Volunteering
I felt it was a meaningful opportunity to spend some time giving back to a local charity.
Since joining Impulse, I’ve gained valuable insight into the charitable sector, including the incredible work done by Yorkshire Children’s Charity to support children across North Yorkshire. They are a truly remarkable organisation that deserves all the support they can get.
The day was spent sorting through bags filled with bedding, clothing, and other essentials, carefully tagging each item to ensure the correct quantities and sizes matched the lists provided.
Memorable moments
I had a fantastic day with the wonderful team at Yorkshire Children’s Charity and connecting with others who had also dedicated their time to volunteering.
Although I was only there for a few hours, I had the pleasure of working alongside two incredible women who had been there tirelessly since 7 a.m. and were staying until 8 p.m. Engaging in conversations with them about the incredible work they do was undoubtedly the highlight of my day. It was truly inspiring to witness their passion for making a difference.
Personal reflections
It was great to get stuck into a very worthy cause and came away feeling energised and that i would love to get stuck in and volunteer for them again.
I was proud that I was able to volunteer, as I have never done any behind the scenes charity work before. At times it was sad to pick up a 2-3year old coat and scarf, thinking of what these children were going through, but the energy in the warehouse was so positive and joyful that it made me feel warm know what we were doing was important.
At Impulse Decisions, we are proud to foster a culture of giving back to the community. We actively encourage our team members to dedicate time during their work hours to support local charities and meaningful causes.
