Meet the Impulse team – Ben

Name: Ben Buckley

Role: Client Partnerships Manager

  • What does your role involve at Impulse Decisions?
My role as client partnerships manager is very varied with my main focus being on client contact and building strong relationships so I can help to make their bucket list dreams a reality. Also to inform them of fantastic events and experiences we have that I know will suit each particular client. I am currently in charge of the sponsorship and ticket sales for our exciting Brian O’Driscoll events for early next year too and also get to attend our events to help host our wonderful clients.
  • What did you do before you joined the team?
Before I joined the team I was an estate agent for five years (…dramatic pause for ‘booing’!) I worked predominantly in the Harrogate District as a valuer and branch manager.
  • What is your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part is being able to speak about sports to clients every day. I already used to speak a lot about sports but now it’s my job and people don’t ask me to stop talking!
  • If you weren’t doing this role, what else would you like to do?
I would like to work with a professional sports team in partnerships/sponsorship – preferably F1.
  • Which events are you looking forward to the most in the next six months?
There are several. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as I’m very excited to see how this season pans out. Also The November Meeting at Cheltenham. And of course, I have to say the Brian O’Driscoll events because I am working hard on them, and it will be good to see them come together.
  • Who would you most like to involve in an event?
I think AP McCoy is, without a doubt the greatest jockey there has been. He sacrificed everything in the pursuit of immortality. I’ll bet he could tell a few good stories and he’s a hero to many in the world of horse racing
  • Who would you most like to have a drink with and why?
Rowan Atkinson. I think he’s a genius and I would love nothing more than to ask him endless Blackadder questions
