The Award
I was extremely surprised but also hugely honoured and proud to be recognised as the Employee of the Year!
Personally it fills me with huge pride. Professionally, it has reinforced my confidence in what I’m doing and motivated me to push even further in 2025 and beyond.
Work Contributions
I’m really proud of all the trips I’ve managed this year, including Rome Rugby, Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, and Silverstone. However, the Singapore Grand Prix stands out the most. Hosting these trips and ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time while everything was taken care of feels very rewarding. There’s always a great feeling when I return from one of our hosted trips and see all the positive feedback.
Career Journey
My journey so far has been incredible. I’ve been in sales for quite a while, but having the opportunity to work in an industry I’m passionate about has been truly rewarding. On top of that, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit some amazing destinations around the world. Since joining Impulse, I’ve experienced events and places like Twickenham Rugby, Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, Dublin, Cannes, Monaco, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Barbados and Singapore. I genuinely love what I do!
The directors—James, Tom, Will, and Heidi—have been incredibly supportive since I joined Impulse. Whenever I’m stuck for ideas or in need of motivation, they’re always there with the right guidance, making my life and job so much easier.
A special shoutout to Ross and Leanne, who joined the hospitality team last year. They’ve made such a significant impact, and I’m genuinely excited about what 2025 has in store for the hospitality department!
Workplace Insights
As I mentioned above, there are so many great things I’ve been able to do, but one of the biggest factors is the people. There isn’t a single person in the business I don’t get along with. Everyone is so supportive, friendly, and genuine. I’d happily grab a beer with any of them, but I also know I can turn to them for advice whenever I need it.
Compound interest – it applies to life too. Focus on chipping away each day, building on what you did the day before. Some days you’ll achieve more than others, but the key is to leave each day feeling like you’ve made progress. Whether it’s work-related or a personal goal, keep taking steps in the right direction. Over 365 days, those small efforts add up
Personal Growth
Over the past 12 months, my mindset has really shifted and matured, both personally and professionally (even if it might not always seem that way from the outside 😊). Certain circumstances gave me the push I needed, and I feel so much better for it.
At the start of the year, I knew my target was going to be a challenge. But as mentioned earlier, I made it a priority to show up every day, take steps in the right direction, and trust the process.
Looking Ahead – Goals for the coming year
- Hitting my 2025 Target
- Grow my network
- Work on my personally development
- Read more. Target of 6 books (1 every 2 months should be achievable)
- Few Gym & Golf Goals
- Plus do everything i did in 2024 but better
I’m genuinely excited to see how far we can take the hospitality department. Right now, our charity auction side is a massive part of the business, but my goal is to surpass that. Will F, watch out—I’m coming for you! 😉
