Today was a truly special and memorable day. Six of us from Impulse had the privilege of accompanying a school reception class on a visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and from the moment we arrived, the excitement from the children was impossible not to smile at.
For many of these children, days out like this aren’t a regular occurrence. Watching their enthusiasm unfold as they explored the park was incredibly heart‑warming. They asked thoughtful questions, shared facts they already knew, and lit up with excitement as they came face‑to‑face with animals they had previously only seen in books or on screens.
One of the standout moments of the day was seeing the Red Pandas. The children had spent the week before the trip learning all about them in school, so being able to spot them in real life was a huge highlight. Hearing them proudly recall what they’d learned and make connections in real time perfectly captured the value of experiences like this – bringing education to life in a meaningful and memorable way.
This visit was made possible thanks to the incredible support of the Yorkshire Children’s Charity. Their commitment to creating special opportunities for children who may not otherwise have access to them shone through in every part of the day. The impact was clear to see in the children’s smiles, laughter, and genuine sense of wonder.
It was a humbling and uplifting experience for everyone involved. We feel extremely proud to have played a small part in helping make such a meaningful day happen – and it’s one we certainly won’t forget.
